Conference Final Four |
|
On an extremely hot
Saturday in which the temperature on the turf measured 130²F Dewalt
cooked Bar Fly in the conference semi-finals winning by a score of
14-10. Dewalt dominated the face-offs giving the offense ample
scoring opportunities and Bar Fly rallied late to narrow a
comfortable lead opened up throughout the game. On Sunday Dewalt
faced a rematch with Magerk's Lacrosse Club- the first meeting saw
Dewalt prevail in a game in which a total of 32 goals were scored.
This time around, Magerk's jumped out to an early lead which they
held onto throughout the game. With 2 minutes to go, we still faced
an imposing 3 goal deficit and were struggling against a stingy
defense, tough goalie play and strong face-off play. The offense
found the right time to catch fire behind goals from Muston, Smedley
and Lochte- 2 minutes and 3 goals later we were deadlocked at 9-9
and headed to overtime! In overtime goalie Chris Petrush made a huge
save, and found Lochte breaking downfield. Hunter made a great open
field dodge and sealed DeWalt's second straight South Conference
Championship and berth in the A.L.L. title match.
We will face GMH of Philadelphia, this years North division winner
in the A.L.L. Championship Game, Saturday 6/19, 2pm at Catonsville
High School where we will attempt to win our 9th league
championship. |

Divisional Playoffs |
|
Dewalt opened the
playoffs with a 14-5 win over a pesky Bullfrogs squad. The first
half was close however the defense clamped down to only allow a
single second half goal and the offense took care of the rest. In
the division final Dewalt defeated Mt Washington by a score of 17-13
paced in a game which featured a flurry of scoring and too much
mad-down defense. With this win Dewalt advances to the conference
final four for the second year in a row. |

5/14/2010 |
|
Dewalt closed the
regular season with two straight wins, first cruising to victory
over Tricerate and then winning an overtime battle against Capital
Lacrosse Club in D.C. despite very light numbers. Greg Wojtech was
the hero, taking an intercepted pass coast to coast for the winning
goal to put an exclamation point on a gutsy team performance. Dewalt
finished the regular season as the number one seed heading into the
divisional playoffs. |

Mid-Season Update |
|
Dewalt continues to roll
with convincing wins against divisional opponents Crease Monkeys and
Green Turtle/DieHards. Next up the team shook off a slow start
against the Charm City Warhawks from the East division, eventually
prevailing 15-10. Finally in a battle of unbeaten teams, Dewalt
defeated the Central Division leading Magerk's team in a shootout.
The offense poured in 18 goals in this game paced by attackers Jason
Werner, Josh Gerber, & Kyle Fiat, while Brian Ward’s back to back
goals put the game out of reach. Most of the goals were assisted in
what was a great team offensive effort. Defensively we were able to
bend but not break, and preserve the win in the 4th quarter. Next up
Dewalt will work to remain unbeaten in games against tough Tricerate
and Capital squads. |
