Field Frustrations

Due to a combination of recent inclement weather and poor field conditions, DeWalt was forced to change fields this past Thursday and play on the opposing team's carpet turf, rather than the sweet, sweet grass at Norris Field.
All players please stay tuned to your e-mail for any upcoming field adjustments in the event that we are unable to get back on to Norris soon.  To all family and friends, we will try to keep the site as up-to-date as possible in regards to any field changes.

High Stepping Past High Tops

Despite a late change in field locale, DeWalt came out strong against High Tops' sponsored North County.  DeWalt possessed the ball for the majority of the game in their 15-5 victory.  They hope to be back at Norris Field this coming Thursday, April 16th, when they take on DC based Capital Lacrosse Club at 8:30.

Turn Down The Lights!

On one of the nicest days so far this spring, DeWalt put up their second 17-5 victory against a conference opponent, Northern Lights.  Gavin Stringer, attack, had an outstanding game as he moved nimbly about the crease to post at least 5 goals.  Keepers Flannigan and Petrush both had solid performances between the pipes, while Pat Muston continued to assert his dominating presence at mid-field.
As DeWalt moves to 3-0, they look forward to their next opponent, North County, which is this coming Thursday, April 9th, at 8pm on Norris Field.

DeWalt Puts A Hole In Portside

Despite the recent rain, DeWalt was able to play its first night game this season, under the lights at Norris Field.  Remembering last year's painful one goal loss, team DeWalt came out firing and defeated Portside, 14-7.  Most notable was keeper Tim Flannigan's 80-yard shot, which took one bounce and went into the goal!  Friends and foes alike were impressed by that one.

DeWalt Flies By First Season/Conference Opponent

In the first official game of the season, DeWalt faced off against conference opponent Canton.  DeWalt came out with depth and energy, winning 17-5.  Keepers Tim Flanagan and Chris Petrush stood strong as they defended the cage from door step shots and one-on-one attacks.  While many players supplied goals in the team's win, the most notable contribution came from Josh Gerber (attack) who posted a whopping 6 goals.  Commendations also go out to Pat Musten for dominating a very busy day at the face-off X.  Next for DeWalt is team Northern Lights - 2pm on Sunday, March 29th at Essex CC.  (I apologize if any names have been misspelled, I am still waiting on the updated roster.)

DeWalt Lacrosse Club Drills Team Bosch

Dewalt Lacrosse Club opened the 2009 spring season with a scrimmage versus Team Bosch from the ALL Pennsylvania Division. Team Dewalt traveled well up to Cabrini College in Philadelphia and looked crisp in earning an 18-3 victory in only 3 quarters of play. It was a good opportunity to dust off the sticks and get some new players gelling with the veterans. Next up for Dewalt will be a scrimmage versus Quaker Lacrosse Club of the ALL Pennsylvania Division on Sunday March 15th, 1pm at Red Lion Christian Academy School in Delaware.

Dewalt Wins Inaugural Eagle Cup

After winning the B.I.L.L., the area's premier indoor lacrosse league, Dewalt was invited to play for the inaugural Eagle Cup. Starting in 2008, the Eagle Cup will be an annual tournament which features the league champion from the Washington Metro, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Boston indoor lacrosse leagues playing off to determine the Champion of the newly formed "Atlantic League". Dewalt faced off against a tough Philly "Vipers" squad in hopes of putting our mark on this new tournament as the first to ever win the crown. In a very physical match, Dewalt prevailed off of a last second shot by Jason Werner to win 6-5. It was a total team victory- Hunter Lochte was named the game MVP and Tim Flanagan turned away a flurry of shots to preserve the win. Our hats off to the Philly Vipers who came down I95 to Baltimore and were extremely competitive, eventually tying the game up in the closing minute of play. This victory capped off a great indoor season and will hopefully be the first of many Eagle Cup victories for Dewalt in this newly established Atlantic League tradition.
